ISO REGISTRATION: HELPING COMPANIES ACHIEVE SUCCESS AND MAXIMIZE PROFITABILITY (DEMO)

Different companies and organizations from all across the globe all aim to provide the finest services to their respective target markets and attain optimal customer service and satisfaction. Fortunately, there are certifications that set the standard so they can improve their business practices as well as the quality of their services. NWITimes.com shared a story about how a local Indiana company specializing in industrial machinery started on the right track in 1996. When they experienced growth and added more employees, they began to struggle in certain areas such as inefficient management and filing methods, as well as poor selection of suppliers. After they were awarded with the certification, there was a significant improvement in their company’s operations, resulting in booming profits:

“At bid analysis time, we lost points due to our lack of a formally accredited quality program,” Dolder said. “The ISO 9001:2008 certification is an internationally recognized quality program certification, so that is the certification we sought.” During the process, the company developed and implemented a new quality system that forced it to formalize its standards and procedures.

“We then audit our performance against those standards and procedures, and we have a mechanism for continuous improvement… It’s a tremendous tool for training new employees, and for sharing among co–workers our mistakes, which become learning opportunities for all.” Dolder is convinced achieving the registration is helping his company grow and thrive. It’s annual revenues were about $7 million before the recession. The company has averaged under $5 million the last four years, but in 2012 will exceed $9 million, Dolder said.

There are many other companies who are in the same situation and the only way to get out of such a predicament and enjoy lasting results is to implement quality management systems. There are a number of certification bodies like the International Standards Authority that offer ISO 9001 registration for small and large businesses.

If companies are indeed serious in their vision and mission, then it is imperative that they invest in these things that will result to continuous improvement. These steps will not only benefit the employees, but also everyone else, including their clients.
